North from Nakasu

The blue Hakozaki Line (H) links Nakasu-Kawabata and Kaizuka through 7 stations. It heads north-east from the riverside entertainment district past Gofukumachi and the prefectural office, then through the old Hakozaki shrine town to Kaizuka. It is one of the shortest runs in the game, and every station is included in either direction.

Route and transfers

The map follows the line's real course: a diagonal out of the centre, then an almost straight run north beside Hakozakigu. At Nakasu-Kawabata you can change to the Kuko Line, and many Hakozaki trains continue onto it towards Nishijin and Meinohama, sharing the same six-car fleet. At Kaizuka the Nishitetsu Kaizuka Line begins, but nothing runs through.

Typing rhythm

Few stations, long names. 千代県庁口 is ちよけんちょうぐち — note the voiced ぐ. 馬出九大病院前 reads まいだしきゅうだいびょういんまえ, a real test of ゅ and ょ in a row. 箱崎九大前 (はこざききゅうだいまえ) puts two き back to back, and the line ends on 貝塚, spelled かいづか with づ. Kana mode shows each small kana as you complete it, which helps with these clusters.

Line data

Everything below is derived from the station data the game runs on, so it always matches what you actually type on the 箱崎線 — all 7 stops of it.

How much typing is this?

Typing every station name on this line takes 106 keystrokes, an average of 15.1 per station. The longest name is 馬出九大病院前 (maidashi-kyudaibyoinmae) at 24 keystrokes; the shortest is 貝塚 (kaizuka) at 7. Those counts come from running each name's kana through the game's own romaji engine, so they are what your fingers actually do — not the length of the printed spelling.

Along the way: 0 names contain a small っ, which doubles the next consonant; 3 contain a small ゃ, ゅ or ょ, where the engine accepts both the Hepburn and Kunrei spellings (sha or sya, shu or syu); and 0 end in ん, whose trailing n folds into whatever comes next rather than standing alone.

Where you can change trains
