Overview
The Joban Line (Local) (JL) is the all-stops service from Ayase out to Toride, 14 stations in all. It through-runs with the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line — Ayase is the boundary between the two — so its emerald-green E233-2000 sets regularly disappear straight into the subway tunnels toward Yoyogi-Uehara.
Along the route
Ayase, Kameari and Kanamachi are classic Katsushika shitamachi (Kameari being the setting of Kochikame). Across the Edo River in Chiba come the Joban commuter towns — Matsudo, Shin-Matsudo, Kashiwa. The terminus, Toride, sits on the Tone River right at the doorstep of Ibaraki Prefecture.
Why play it
At 14 stations it's one of the shortest lines in the game — a run takes a minute or two, which makes it ideal for warming up, trying out a new input mode, or grinding repeated attempts at a personal best.
Line data
Everything below is derived from the station data the game runs on, so it always matches what you actually type on the 常磐線各駅停車 — all 14 stops of it.

How much typing is this?
Typing every station name on this line takes 119 keystrokes, an average of 8.5 per station. The longest name is 南柏 (minami-kashiwa) at 13 keystrokes; the shortest is 綾瀬 (ayase) at 5. Those counts come from running each name's kana through the game's own romaji engine, so they are what your fingers actually do — not the length of the printed spelling.
Along the way: 0 names contain a small っ, which doubles the next consonant; 0 contain a small ゃ, ゅ or ょ, where the engine accepts both the Hepburn and Kunrei spellings (sha or sya, shu or syu); and 0 end in ん, whose trailing n folds into whatever comes next rather than standing alone.
Where you can change trains
7 of the 14 stations on this line connect to another line in the game. Follow any symbol to that line's guide.
