Sapporo Streetcar makes a complete loop through the city centre and the neighbourhoods south of Odori. This route includes all 24 stops, from Nishi yon chome around to Tanuki koji and back to your starting stop. Increasing station numbers follow the inner, counterclockwise direction. The vehicle portrait is the black-and-white 1100 type, nicknamed Sirius.
A street-level loop
The western side runs through the Nishisen stops toward Ropeway iriguchi and Chuo toshokan mae. The eastern side returns through Yamahana, Susukino and Tanuki koji. Official walking connections link Nishi yon chome with Odori, Chuo kuyakusho mae with Nishi juitchome, Nishi jugo chome with Nishi juhatchome, Seishugakuen mae with Horohira bashi, and Yamahana ku jo with Nakajima koen. Susukino also meets the Namboku Line.
Numbered names with different readings
西8丁目 is にしはっちょうめ, with a small っ. 西線14条 uses じゅうよじょう, while 山鼻19条 uses じゅうくじょう. The long 西線9条旭山公園通 rewards breaking the name into phrases before increasing your speed. Romaji and Kana modes derive their accepted input from the reading; Kanji mode accepts the station name. A full loop types the starting stop again at the finish.

How much typing is this?
Typing every station name on this line takes 396 keystrokes, an average of 16.5 per station. The longest name is 西線9条旭山公園通 (nishisen-ku-jo-asahiyama-koen-dori) at 32 keystrokes; the shortest is すすきの (susukino) at 8. Those counts come from running each name's kana through the game's own romaji engine, so they are what your fingers actually do — not the length of the printed spelling.
Along the way: 3 names contain a small っ, which doubles the next consonant; 17 contain a small ゃ, ゅ or ょ, where the engine accepts both the Hepburn and Kunrei spellings (sha or sya, shu or syu); and 0 end in ん, whose trailing n folds into whatever comes next rather than standing alone.
Where you can change trains
6 of the 24 stations on this line connect to another line in the game. Follow any symbol to that line's guide.
