From the western suburbs to Hakata

The green Nanakuma Line (N) runs 18 stations from Hashimoto to Hakata. It starts in the south-western suburbs, swings past Fukuoka University, climbs north through Ropponmatsu and Yakuin to Tenjin-minami, and since March 2023 continues through Kushida Shrine to Hakata Station. Every station is included, so either direction is a full terminal-to-terminal run.

Route and transfers

The map keeps the line's real shape: east along the southern hills, a sharp turn north at Fukuoka University, and the eastward hook through the centre. Change to the Kuko Line at Hakata. Tenjin-minami is its own station, a walk from the Kuko Line's Tenjin, so Route Planner treats them separately. The line uses compact four-car linear-motor trains, the 3000 and 3000A series.

Typing rhythm

The readings are the trap here. 別府 is べふ, not the hot-spring town's べっぷ. 野芥 is のけ, 賀茂 is かも, and 茶山 is ちゃやま. 六本松 needs the small っ in ろっぽんまつ, and 桜坂 is さくらざか with a voiced ざ. 薬院大通 (やくいんおおどおり) and 渡辺通 (わたなべどおり) both end on どおり, and 櫛田神社前 (くしだじんじゃまえ) closes the run. Check the kana before you speed up.

Line data

Everything below is derived from the station data the game runs on, so it always matches what you actually type on the 七隈線 — all 18 stops of it.

How much typing is this?

Typing every station name on this line takes 161 keystrokes, an average of 8.9 per station. The longest name is 櫛田神社前 (kushida-jinja-mae) at 15 keystrokes; the shortest is 賀茂 (kamo) at 4. Those counts come from running each name's kana through the game's own romaji engine, so they are what your fingers actually do — not the length of the printed spelling.

Along the way: 1 names contain a small っ, which doubles the next consonant; 2 contain a small ゃ, ゅ or ょ, where the engine accepts both the Hepburn and Kunrei spellings (sha or sya, shu or syu); and 1 end in ん, whose trailing n folds into whatever comes next rather than standing alone.
