Overview
The Nanko Port Town Line (P), opened in 1981 and universally known as the New Tram, runs 10 stations and about 7.9 km from Cosmosquare to Suminoekoen. It is not a subway at all but a driverless, rubber-tyred guideway system, looping around the man-made island of Nanko on elevated track before heading inland.
Along the route
From Cosmosquare it calls at Trade Center-mae, under the Sakishima Cosmo Tower, then Nakafuto, before circling the planned residential district at Port Town-nishi and Port Town-higashi. Ferry Terminal and Nankoguchi follow, and the line crosses back to the mainland at Hirabayashi, ending at Suminoekoen on the Yotsubashi Line.
Why play it
Nowhere else on the network are the names this katakana-heavy: Cosmosquare, Trade Center-mae and Port Town-nishi come one after another, a run of long vowels and loanword spellings that makes ten short stops surprisingly technical.

How much typing is this?
Typing every station name on this line takes 130 keystrokes, an average of 13 per station. The longest name is トレードセンター前 (trade-center-mae) at 16 keystrokes; the shortest is 中ふ頭 (nakafuto) at 9. Those counts come from running each name's kana through the game's own romaji engine, so they are what your fingers actually do — not the length of the printed spelling.
Along the way: 0 names contain a small っ, which doubles the next consonant; 0 contain a small ゃ, ゅ or ょ, where the engine accepts both the Hepburn and Kunrei spellings (sha or sya, shu or syu); and 1 end in ん, whose trailing n folds into whatever comes next rather than standing alone.
Where you can change trains
2 of the 10 stations on this line connect to another line in the game. Follow any symbol to that line's guide.
