Overview
The Yotsubashi Line (Y), opened in 1942, runs 11 stations and about 11.4 km from Nishi-Umeda to Suminoekoen. It exists to take pressure off the Midosuji Line, shadowing it one block to the west all the way down through the city centre — quietly useful rather than glamorous.
Along the route
From Nishi-Umeda the line passes Higobashi on the edge of Nakanoshima, then Hommachi and Yotsubashi, a street away from the youth-culture district of Amerikamura. It runs alongside Midosuji at Namba and Daikokucho before veering southwest through Hanazonocho, Tamade and Kita-kagaya, known for its warehouse art scene, to Suminoekoen.
Why play it
A short course of eleven stops with mostly compact, tidy names — ideal as a warm-up, or as a sprint track for chasing a high CPM when you only have a few minutes.

How much typing is this?
Typing every station name on this line takes 105 keystrokes, an average of 9.5 per station. The longest name is 住之江公園 (suminoekoen) at 13 keystrokes; the shortest is なんば (namba) at 5. Those counts come from running each name's kana through the game's own romaji engine, so they are what your fingers actually do — not the length of the printed spelling.
Along the way: 0 names contain a small っ, which doubles the next consonant; 2 contain a small ゃ, ゅ or ょ, where the engine accepts both the Hepburn and Kunrei spellings (sha or sya, shu or syu); and 1 end in ん, whose trailing n folds into whatever comes next rather than standing alone.
Where you can change trains
4 of the 11 stations on this line connect to another line in the game. Follow any symbol to that line's guide.
