Overview

The Keiyo Line (JE) leaves Tokyo Station and runs east along Tokyo Bay to Soga in Chiba across 18 stations. It is best known as the line to Tokyo Disney Resort — Maihama is one of its stops. Red is its identity colour, and its Tokyo Station platforms are famous for sitting an exhausting walk away from the rest of the station.

Along the route

It starts under the old bayside districts at Hatchobori and Etchujima, surfaces past Shin-Kiba into the reclaimed waterfront, then rolls by the big Ferris wheel at Kasai-Rinkai-Koen, the resort at Maihama, and the convention halls and ballpark at Kaihin-Makuhari. Most of the route is elevated, with open views of the bay off to the right.

Why play it

A compact 18-station run that's quick to replay, punctuated by a few genuinely long names — Kasai-rinkai-koen, Makuhari-toyosuna — that give even a short line a real change of pace.

Line data

Everything below is derived from the station data the game runs on, so it always matches what you actually type on the 京葉線 — all 18 stops of it.

How much typing is this?

Typing every station name on this line takes 209 keystrokes, an average of 11.6 per station. The longest name is 葛西臨海公園 (kasai-rinkai-koen) at 17 keystrokes; the shortest is 蘇我 (soga) at 4. Those counts come from running each name's kana through the game's own romaji engine, so they are what your fingers actually do — not the length of the printed spelling.

Along the way: 2 names contain a small っ, which doubles the next consonant; 3 contain a small ゃ, ゅ or ょ, where the engine accepts both the Hepburn and Kunrei spellings (sha or sya, shu or syu); and 2 end in ん, whose trailing n folds into whatever comes next rather than standing alone.

Where you can change trains

3 of the 18 stations on this line connect to another line in the game. Follow any symbol to that line's guide.

Marked with a star: 東京 — the major interchanges, which the maps always label and the game marks with a heavier arrival stamp.
