Overview
The Imazatosuji Line (I), opened in 2006, is the newest line on the network and, like the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line, a linear-motor mini subway. Its 11 stations cover about 11.9 km from Itakano to Imazato, running north-south entirely through the eastern suburbs without touching the city centre.
Along the route
From Itakano on the north bank of the Yodo River it heads south via Zuiko 4-chome and Daido-toyosato, meeting the Tanimachi Line at Taishibashi-imaichi. Shimizu and Sekime-seiiku follow before Gamo 4-chome, where the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line crosses, and then Shigino and Midoribashi lead to Imazato.
Why play it
Almost none of these names are ones a visitor already knows, so there are no free guesses — this is a course you read purely from the kana. At 11 stops it stays manageable while testing how well you really know Osaka.

How much typing is this?
Typing every station name on this line takes 128 keystrokes, an average of 11.6 per station. The longest name is 太子橋今市 (taishibashi-imaichi) at 18 keystrokes; the shortest is 井高野 (itakano) at 7. Those counts come from running each name's kana through the game's own romaji engine, so they are what your fingers actually do — not the length of the printed spelling.
Along the way: 0 names contain a small っ, which doubles the next consonant; 2 contain a small ゃ, ゅ or ょ, where the engine accepts both the Hepburn and Kunrei spellings (sha or sya, shu or syu); and 0 end in ん, whose trailing n folds into whatever comes next rather than standing alone.
Where you can change trains
5 of the 11 stations on this line connect to another line in the game. Follow any symbol to that line's guide.
