Overview
The Asakusa Line (A) links Nishi-magome and Oshiage over about 18.3 km and 20 stations. Opened in 1960, it was Toei's very first subway line, its crimson-red trains linking Asakusa's Kaminarimon gate to Shinagawa.
Along the route
The line passes Nihombashi and Higashi-ginza, through-running at either end with the Keikyu and Keisei railways all the way to Haneda and Narita airports — a genuine airport connector line, and a showcase for Toei's through-service with private railways.
Why play it
As an airport line, its station names mix Western and Japanese naming styles, giving the run a distinctly international rhythm.

How much typing is this?
Typing every station name on this line takes 187 keystrokes, an average of 9.4 per station. The longest name is 東日本橋 (higashi-nihombashi) at 17 keystrokes; the shortest is 三田 (mita) at 4. Those counts come from running each name's kana through the game's own romaji engine, so they are what your fingers actually do — not the length of the printed spelling.
Along the way: 0 names contain a small っ, which doubles the next consonant; 3 contain a small ゃ, ゅ or ょ, where the engine accepts both the Hepburn and Kunrei spellings (sha or sya, shu or syu); and 1 end in ん, whose trailing n folds into whatever comes next rather than standing alone.
Where you can change trains
11 of the 20 stations on this line connect to another line in the game. Follow any symbol to that line's guide.
